How Should The Campsites Be Kept Free From Ticks?

How Should The Campsites Be Kept Free From Ticks?
23 Feb2023

Thick bushes, tall grasses and piles of leaves are ticks' favourite – if any of these are there at your campsites, then ticks will go on lurking. As a human body or a pet walks around the camp, the ticks can get on. But you need to be responsible for a well-groomed campsite and keep it tick-free. During hikes, the ticks can get on hikers that might further get transported to the campsite.

By taking suitable steps, you can get rid of the ticks family at your campsite. Before the camping enthusiasts come over, follow the mentioned steps to keep the ticks away so that not a single tent is attacked by a tick when camping is at full fledge.

1. Use the Tick Repellents Only When the Professional Pest Controllers Have Approved

The market is never at a pause to advertise insect and tick repellents. But save yourself from being swayed. Trust what professional pest controllers have to say. You would not understand which repellent is skin-friendly and which is environment-friendly. But the professional tick controllers will know and will rightly advise you to choose the industrially approved and accepted tick repellents for your campsites and campers’ tents.

2. Hire the Professionals For Tick-Spraying Your Campground

Having your campground sprayed to keep the ticks at bay is a necessity. Not a single camper should be affected by Lyme disease! That is why hire pest control professionals for their tick spraying services at your campground in Northern Beaches.

3. Make Sure the Camping Tents Are Laid in the Clear and Sunny Area

Ticks party at the shady, wet areas. To avoid the ticks, lead the campers to set up their tent in a sunny area. Ticks are clever to hide in tall grasses and piles of leaves. Safe is a sunny area where ticks would not want to invade.

4. Keep Chairs Properly Arranged

Ask the campers to carry camping chairs and avoid the ground as much as possible. When they sit on the chairs, the chances of ticks climbing on is lesser.

5. Prevent Any Kind of Shortcuts Around Your Campground

Choose the well–groomed paths for the campers since ticks won't want to lurk on them. Infact, taking shortcuts is bad camping etiquette.

6. Abstain From Gathering Firewood

Choose to purchase the firewood for the campfire, and not gather them. Gathered wood is likely to contain ticks. Buying them is a safer option and even environmentally preferred.

7. Instruct the Campers To Tuck In Their Clothing

As long as the campers are at the camping ground, ensure they have tucked in their clothes. When the clothes are tucked in, ticks have least to no place to climb, reach the skin and bite.

8. All Camping Clothing Should Be Treated With Permethrin

For all clothes the campers wear multiple times, they should treat them with permethrin. Instruct them.

The camping ground that you own is your responsibility. But the grasses and leaves will never stop attracting the ticks, and this is exactly where you have to interfere. By no means can they be allowed to continue and threaten the campers' lives. Hence, to ensure all round and spellbound safety, take help from the tick spraying service team. By using quality and industry-approved sprays, they are going to keep your campground absolutely tick free. So, you have all the right to let the ball run in your court!
